WILMINGTON, N.C. --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Port City Java® announces its annual corporate cafes sales increased 8.3% for 2006 vs. 2005. Management is pleased with the same unit increase, and feels the unit sales increase and market penetration is due to the daily execution of “core basics” of the unit operations. The company considers core basics to include adherence to recipes and ingredient specifications, cleanliness of facilities, superior guest service, proper scheduling and labor models, and local marketing efforts. Management believes the daily execution of these core basics will continue to enhance and exceed the guest experience and that will continue to drive unit sales upward. The company has expended significant resources developing system wide tools to help The Brand achieve maximum results.
EXPANDED BREAKFAST SANDWICH PROGRAM:
The company is preparing to test an expanded Breakfast Program at select corporate cafes, as it has seen significant sales results from the system wide Breakfast Sandwich Program rolled out in 2005. The 2005 roll out consists of a line of Breakfast Sandwiches, egg, cheese, sausage, peppered bacon and ham combinations on english muffins. The Breakfast Sandwich Program has been an enhancement to the company’s in-house bakery offerings. There are efficiencies to be achieved, in regards to labor and speed of service, by growing this segment of the business, which currently provides the greatest concentration of traffic and business.
