Port City Java Announces IMC Investment; Two Additional Units Announced in Greenville, SC

WILMINGTON, N.C.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- January 11, 2006 -- Wilmington, N.C. based Port City Java announces Investment Management Corp. (IMC), parent company of Golden Corral grill-buffet Brand, has acquired a 16% stake in Port City Java. IMC is a Raleigh, NC based investor company with a focus on multi-unit retail chains with high growth potential. IMC Chairman James Maynard will be joining the Port City Java Board. Port City Java COO and Founder Don Reynolds said " the company is very pleased with having IMC as a partner, and feels very fortunate to have input from IMC's management, and particularly James Maynard. Two Additonal Units Announced in Greenville, SC

The company announces the signing of two additional cafés in the Greenville, SC market. Currently the company has 3 units open in the market and two units under construction. With the two additional unit commitments, this will bring the Brand's representation to 7 units in the market. This is following management's model of " cluster openings " and full market penetration. The company is very pleased with market acceptance and execution in the market.
