Port City Java Announces 17% Increases in Same Store Sales; Enhanced Products/Green Bean Specialist
WILMINGTON, N.C.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- February 10, 2005 -- Port City Java announces that it's January 2005 same store corporate café sales increased by more than 17% versus January of the prior year. Management attributes these strong top line results to increased Brand awareness and acceptance, which has been strengthened through product and service enhancement programs.
Enhanced Products/Green Bean Specialist
Port City Java COO Don Reynolds indicates " the company rolled out a new specialty espresso based beverage for the winter - the Blackberry Viennese, which has experienced tremendous customer acceptance ". The company supported the beverage introduction with strong point of sale materials and employee suggestive selling. Additionally, the company featured the drink on its web page for the initial 30 days of the roll out.
The company has also enhanced its coffee procurement process and expanded it's variety of offerings. In October of 2004 Katie Downey joined Port City Java as its Green Bean Specialist. By having an experienced individual concentrate solely on green been quality and supply, the company has significantly enhanced its quality control processes.
Director of Training Vicki Kenyon has initiated several new programs, namely " Q-Bits ", a café level quality control system. The " Q-Bits " program enforces the company's high standards throughout the Port City Java café network.
