Port City Java Opens New Unit in Charlotte; Introduces Port City Java Lunch Box Program
WILMINGTON, N.C.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- March 17, 2005 -- Wilmington, NC based Port City Java announces the opening of a new Port City Java café located in SouthPark Towers, at 6000 Fairview Road in Charlotte, NC. This is the company's third opening in a nontraditional setting in the past 60 days. Port City Java COO Don Reynolds states " the company continues to penetrate the market utilizing distinct models including Traditional sites, such as Drive Thru locations, urban sites generating foot traffic, mixed use sites, and Nontraditional sites, such as grocery stores, Universities, and office buildings. " Reynolds further stated " this new Port City Java is a clear example of a Nontraditional site, as the café is located in a fourteen story office building. It has a built in guest base and with the " all day " model we have in our cafés, it is a strong site ".
Port City Java Lunch Box
The company rolled out the first PCJ Lunch Box Program. The Program consist of expanded sandwich and salad offerings in a self serve case, incorporated into the Barista Line. It was developed to compliment the existing Port City Java Panini Grill Program. The PCJ Lunch Box Program was designed for sites with a heavy concentration of lunch business, during a condensed time, allowing the guest to quickly serve themselves. The program utilizes a designated Barista to monitor the case during the lunch peak and accept payment. This enables the guest to quickly choose items and pay without waiting in line. This will also allow the café to serve more guests during lunch, when speed and efficiency are essential.
