Port City Java Expands Slush'n Joe™ Line of Drinks for Summer; Port City Java Uniqueness
WILMINGTON, N.C.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- March 31, 2005 -- Port City Java announces the expansion of its Slush'n Joe™ line of Summer drinks. The company will now offer the Proprietary drink in 3 additional flavors to compliment the " Original " Slush'n Joe™. Vanilla, Chocolate and Summer Blackberry have been added to the line up. The new flavors were developed and tested at the Corporate Training Center. After the drinks were tested and the final flavors were determined, Creative Director Jayson Conway created Point of Sales materials to support the roll out of the new products, including a new opening page on the Company's website, showcasing the new drinks.
The signature drink, which is Port City Java " Iced Blend " Coffee, Ice Cream, flavoring, and Crushed Ice, gives the drink a unique smooth and icy blend, which is different from a Frappe or Milk Shake. The drink was developed in 1999 and is a major Summer revenue generator for the company. When the drink was designed, the company wished to create a drink that was lighter than a milk shake, but smoother than a Frappe. Port City Java COO Don Reynolds states " the company has considerable equity in Slush'n Joe™, and this allows us to expand and leverage that equity ". The company feels expanding proven products is a prudent path for utilizing its R&D resources.
