Port City Java Opens Third Unit in Charleston, SC; New Holiday Drink
WILMINGTON, N.C.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- December 01, 2005 -- Port City Java announces the opening of a new Port City Java in The Charleston, SC market. The new café is located at 354 West Coleman Blvd; Mt. Pleasant, SC, and has Drive Thru window service. This is the third Port City Java in the Charleston Market. Mt. Pleasant is a " bedroom " community of Charleston and is located within Charleston County. In keeping with the company's market development plans, additional sites are being evaluated. Management believes the Brand must be fully developed in a given market to achieve significant market penetration and market share gain. COO Don Reynolds indicates " Charleston is a significant market for Port City Java to achieve Brand recognition and we are very excited to have a Drive Thru option for our guests. " Drive Thru opportunities in the market are very difficult to obtain, due to traffic patterns and zoning.
New Holiday Drink
The company announces it has rolled out a new drink for the Holiday Season. Candied Orange Mocha has been in the cafés since Thanksgiving and will be promoted through the Holiday Season. The drink was introduced to the cafés and supported with Holiday Cups, a six foot Banner, and POS materials, all with a Holiday/Winter theme. The Company is pleased with the close work between its Marketing, R&D, and Operations departments, to develop and execute a concise Holiday Program. The company understands that a successful product roll out requires a complete program, including supporting Marketing materials and employee training.
